[ Merlin Christ, Remus thinks, like a half-blood, but he doesn't write it, because let's not understate how terrified of Voldemort he and everyone with any sense really is. Even Gryffindors who call him by his name because Dumbledore says so because they're made of courage.
Also, the bloody screaming baby sounds horrific, but Remus knows exactly nothing (nothing) about horcruxes and Voldemort's use thereof, so he gets a little distracted from that horror by what is really an even bigger horror: ]
Yes. [The magic particulars are very particular and would be quite a lot of pages to write out so it'll have to be broken up haphazardly into miscommunications/texts.]
Only a small piece.
When mum sacrificed herself for me, her counter-charm blasted him apart and the one bit flew about willy nilly onto me. I don't know if it would've been enough to keep him alive if it weren't for his other inventions. I was even a Parselmouth for awhile
Did the other me not say?
[This is a bit confounding but Harry supposes it's taken him awhile to sit and spoiler the end of his book series for his uncles so]
[ This is a very strange conversation to be having. Cue a sudden burst of sympathy for Sirius, who's had to navigate the pronouns of you and past-you so many more times. Also cue a sudden realisation— ]
Not that you haven't. He'd been through a lot here, on top of all of that.
& I was never very good with you, you know. You cried every time I held you. :)
[ I assume this, wildly, without asking Cee. Sirius knew to get him a little training broom for his birthday, at least, and apparently that was a big hit. ]
Is that how Voldemort survived to come back again? Lily broke is soul up into bits somehow?
I thought so. [The thought makes Harry happy and sad at the same time. He remembers the photo. It's not sobering exactly for him to type on-- it's been awhile since he had nightmares or anything.]
Part of it was me, but mainly it was his Horcruxes. Magical items, real dark stuff
when Hermione, Ron (Weasley) and I were looking it up in the library the only book with anything about it was in the restricted section. and even then there were hardly any particulars because it's so awful
youve got to kill a person to create each one.
Voldemort made six.
we had the worst time tracking them down honestly. you can make one out of anything-- flatware or live animals or furniture or toys. It nearly tore us apart, figuring out what he'd bloody chosen.
[ All of this is awful. Awful enough that Remus doesn't give in to morbid curiosity—how, where—on the off chance he can quiz Sirius about it instead. They haven't talked much about going back home. Actually somewhere else on the Ataraxion timeline they're currently fighting about it pretty loudly. But Remus knows Sirius is planning on it, planning on fixing things, so maybe he's already asked the hard questions.
No I had my friends. They came with me even when I told them not to and tried to get away without them.
Hermione Granger, her parents were Muggles Ronald Weasley, Molly and Arthur's son (one of)
[I miss them, Harry thinks but doesn't type. He'll miss them more in the time to come, later when his mother is gone, but weird timelines plague us all. Harry should probably talk about timey wimey fixy nonsense to some people soon. Try not to unbirth yourselves, kids!]
Oh, I heard something about Ron. I knew his uncles.
[ And he'd like to ask where Dumbledore was in all of this—or Severus, if he's meant to be so helpful now—or Sirius. Or him. But it seems wiser not to. ]
I'm glad you had company. It sounds like a lot to handle.

His soul latched onto you.
[ That does not sound safe, Harry Potter. ]

Are you all right now? Is there any of him left?

less crying this go around and taller but me
hopefully easier to get on with
was Sirius any good with babies? [he decides to make it about babies cuz it's weird to talk about crying. He's a full grown man.]

['Bloody' is stiff language for Harry.]

This one is meant to be easier: ]
Were you doing all of this alone?

[Harry would be glad Remus isn't asking, if he knew that he was considering it.]
We weren't the Marauders though. Didn't even have a club name
[It seems right to lighten the mood a bit.]
